Running a Team

The off season isn’t really off. There’s lots of work to do. PRE and Sup7eme are spending long hours looking at players. They have to make some tough choices. Overall though, I’ve been watching them all season approaching these big and challenging decisions with calm and tact. It’s been an eye opening experience that is one of my favorite things: I get to cover the unfolding story of a young team.

I truly am an observer here. While I do play Overwatch, I’m not anywhere close to the level of the players or the analytical ability of the coaches. I often spend more time watching them for their reactions than the match. As a casual player, listening to their conversations has really made me appreciate the complexity of the game. It also shows just how much time they review and plan and test and practice.

I’m looking forward to working with these two for next season. I see their dedication and it makes me want to try even harder at what I do. They’ve been great subjects and I’m we’ve been able to work together on quick projects like the Voter PSA and post match media. These photos are all moments of intense concentration. Some are jubilant while others are sad. That’s the way sports looks: big ups and big downs.

Off season isn’t off. We’re building, we’re planning, we’re getting ready for a great new season. There will be ups and downs, good moments and bad, but with these two at the helm, we’ll see our best season yet!

So let’s ourselves practice up and go play some Overwatch!
