A New Trilogy...

Off-season is an interesting time. We’re all taking a rest. It’s a time of planning and of review. Our team had a long season and despite the cancelation of our Homestands, we still managed to do a lot of different things. One of my favorite were our large live stream events toward the end. I cut down the hour-long sessions into bite-sized vids. I think the results went well.

UNO Attack! was a fun session that we literally spiced up with some challenges. The “Attack” version adds a device that randomly spits cards at the person pressing the button. Anything from zero to, well, many… Jjanu went several rounds of pressing the button and got away with nothing! But eventually he ended up with a stack of cards.

It’s a very simple game, but those often generate the most competition. During the game the guys were talking strategy about how to attack someone. One of the changes we made was to add a pepper challenge. On a few cards were the challenge to the person to pick a random fork with a pepper on it. Sweet or spicy, which one?! ArK got a sweet one, AimGod and rOar both got spicy…

A quick live stream was making tie-dye shirts. This offered a lot of personal expression to the team. It was also about as far from competition and games as could be. This was good because the next week started playoffs. This project offered everyone a simple evening of art and banter.

The final results were pretty awesome. Lots of you commented on which you liked the most. The team all took different approaches. One thing to note: in the video it looks like Ttuba is drenching his shirt in green, yet it came out very minimalist. Tie-dying is one of those fun projects where not knowing how it will turn out is the major fun.

Alas, my grand disappointment with these videos is that I didn’t take any photos of the Justice Olympics. I was too busy filming. We will do these next season for sure and my major take away is to use more cameras. I’m only one photographer and using both hands to run the live stream and two or three other cameras taxes my abilities a little bit.

We get pretty competitive about everything around here, even when playing UNO! UNO ATTACK! was a fun Instagram Live session for us. If you joined us live, yo...

But stay tuned! We’ll have more fun vids coming up!

And let’s go play some Overwatch!
