Our Appreciation Grows

The following is a guest post from Laveen Daryani, Partnerships and Business Manager for Washington Justice

Hey Justice Fam!

It has been a long time since I have seen you, and I hope that changes as soon as possible in 2021. Connecting with you via Instagram Live was nice, but there is no replacement for a real interaction, hanging out, and having fun in close proximity! No doubt, it has been a tough year for most people, and I hope you are all staying safe, healthy, and mentally strong in these crazy and sad circumstances. There is a quote that I would like to share with you, and it goes “2020 made me forget about what I wanted and appreciate what I have”. I personally could not agree more. I have taken a step back and reflected on how fortunate I am to have my family and friends right now, even though I cannot be near most of them. For me, this mindset has been a desperately needed tonic that has kept me going during the pandemic.

As the Partnerships and Business Manager, part of my job is to have conversations with current and potential partners and identify mutually beneficial alignment with Justice fans and the Justice brand. There is so much that I cannot wait to share with you, including some cool surprises we have planned for 2021. I have had the pleasure of speaking to some amazing partners to discuss ways to create fun experiences for Justice fans that are different, original, and most importantly, authentic. This is now an even greater challenge as we are still not sure about the status of live events going into next season. From what I observed, the vast majority of Justice fans really enjoyed our homestands, and the question now becomes how we can match that experience in a season where live events may or may not be feasible due to the pandemic. The simple truth is it is possible we may not be able to replicate what we did last season as things currently stand, but we can certainly put on our creative hats and come up with fun and interesting ways to interact while keeping everyone safe, and that is exactly what I plan to have happen.

During our homestands, I had the pleasure of speaking with so many of you and hearing your comments and feedback on how we were doing, and what we could do to be better. We even integrated some ideas that you provided to create a more authentic homestand experience. Let me say that no pandemic is going to stop us from listening to you again, so if you have any fun, safe, and creative ideas you want us to consider for the 2021 season, please feel free to dm me on twitter @laveen87. I would love to hear your thoughts on how we can successfully navigate this pandemic with you in mind, as authenticity is key. Thank you always for your support, it means so much to us, especially in these circumstances. Stay safe, and I cannot wait to see you all again soon!

Laveen
