For the Win! — Washington Justice

What happens after a match? A lot, very quickly. There’s a small pause immediately after a match as the animation rolls, then everyone goes into action. For my part, it’s taking photos and prepping for our post match media. For the players and coaches, it’s a deep breath and on a win, some congratulations!

After a match, the players will often stay at or near their computers. They will chat with each other about the match, do a quick review, or more often, crack jokes and relax a little.

The team competes in one room. This offers coaches and staff the opportunity to speak to everyone directly before and after a match. During the Homestands and in the Blizzard Arena days, communicating with the team was done through comms only. While we all miss the stage and the cheering crowd, the team does try to make the most of the changes for better communication.

ArK speaks to the Desk during team selection

Sometimes after a match there are interviews or team selection for the tournaments. This time, ArK took to camera and gave Justice’s perspective on being selected by Gladiators. We’re glad to have a great set up for our streams and I want to photograph under these lights more!

The last thing that usually happens after a match is dinner! It’s very informal as the team just want to relax at this point. Some will sit down and eat, others will watch some vods or play a different game. Then heading home and resting up.
